When you sign up for a new 0% credit card many times there are no annual fees.  If you are looking for a new credit card, it pays to shop around.  Compare the interest rates, the annual fees, and the interest-free period.  First, ask yourself if you will be able to pay off the credit card balance in full each month.  If you answer no, you should consider a 0% card or a card that will offer a low interest rate permanently. Look for a permanent rate of 10% APR (annual percentage rate) or less.

Annual credit card fees are costs charges once annually by the credit card company for use of the credit card.  In the past, most credit cards had an annual fee.  Now, however, most credit cards do not have an annual fee. Unless the credit card company offers some special perks that you want, you should not have to pay an annual fee to use the card.

Many cards now have introductory 0% offers on balance transfers. Some cards will give you 0% on your purchases for an initial period, usually between six months and a year.  Then there are some cards that offer 0% on both balance transfers and purchases, which is the best deal you can find when it comes to 0% credit cards.  Always make sure you know what the APR is on your card and what the time limits are for 0%.You may not always know what the future holds and although you may have good intentions of paying off your bill each month unforeseen circumstances may happen that make it impossible or difficult to pay your bill.

Some of the major credit card issuers offer free insurance on goods you purchased with their card.  Some of these insurance offers are price-protection, purchase protection, travel accident insurance and online fraud guarantees or internet delivery protection.  These may come free of charge but be sure to read the small print to find out exactly what is covered.  If these are offered for a fee, be sure to know exactly what you are getting for your money or decline to purchase the insurance. If you have any questions about your credit card, you should call them and speak to a representative who can answer your questions.
